Steers the sound of the station by curating its music. Decides what plays, when, and why it feels right.
Responsibilities
- Curates and schedules all music, playlists, ads, and shows — from Yukon favourites to new discoveries across genres
- Balances the vibe across the week — mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends, all of it — to suit the time and tone, not just algorithm soup
- Guides the station identity with one key question: “Does this feel like CJUC?”
- Ensures CanCon and station policy quotas are met without sounding like punishment
- Helps shape new show ideas and wrangles the overall programming puzzle
- Explores cross-promotion across shows to build station unity and coherence on a minimalist budget
- Flags weird glitches, squashes rogue PSAs, fixes vibe crimes, and quietly keeps things coherent
