How to get on the air

1️⃣ Share Your Idea

Submit a show proposal.
This helps us understand your idea, availability, and what you’re hoping to do.

 

2️⃣ Connect & Try It Out

We’ll have a short conversation to make sure it’s a good fit, then you’ll shadow a host or volunteer and get a feel for how CJUC works.

 

3️⃣ Get Trained & Get On Air

If it’s a good match:

Access, keys, and regular timeslots are earned progressively.

We give priority to programming that:

check Is produced by groups, not individuals

check Has local content and roots in the listening community

check Includes a diversity of grassroots voices

check Reflects emerging and/or underrepresented communities

check Is educational and inspiring

check Is produced live

check Is not for profit

check Promotes technical skill-sharing

check Respects its audience

check Plays music that is not available on existing stations (No Top 40!)

check Commits to weekly programming of 60 min in length.
